Portfolio Feedback Reflective Blog Post

In college, I was asked to create a portfolio either online or in a PDF file to showcase what work I have produced, ready for a portfolio critique with people in my course and in lower-level courses like fine art and graphics.

Luckily for me, I had already saved time beforehand in creating a portfolio here in WordPress, meaning I would only need to update the portfolio by including recent work for my projects.

On the day on the portfolio critique, each person would take in turns presenting their portfolios. Already, I felt confident enough to be the one to present first which would be displayed on a big screen connected to my laptop so that way everyone could see my screen instead of gathering round my desk.

The positive feedback that I had been given for my portfolio were that it has great variation of content and layout for each section. As for feedback to improve, I was given suggestions to remove the placeholder of my course on the homepage, change my fonts so that it stands out more and possibly create a PDF to condense large amounts of information before providing a link to the portfolio.

In my opinion, the experience of presenting to other students from different courses wasn’t too bad but could have been handled better as the feedback I had received was insufficient. The explanations were not thorough, which left me a little disappointed since I was expecting proper feedback.

I think the portfolio critique would have been better if everyone remained in their own classes since everyone in my course gets along well with each other, is willing to listen to what each other has to say, and can provide better feedback than what is given from other classes since my classmates have a better understanding of what work I have produced compared to other courses.
