X-Gen VR Trip and Learning in Adobe Aero (Week 10)

On Thursday 23rd November 2023, I was invited along with my classmates to go to a virtual reality place named X-Gen VR to experience different virtual reality games as our next project after the promotional video for our college involves creating our own virtual reality space inspired by the different games we played. Luckily for us, it was open privately so everybody in the class can choose which of the games they wanted to play for free of charge.

Here are some photographs I took during the trip:

Unfortunately, I didn’t manage to include all of the equipment we have used in the trip inside X-Gen VR but there are a variety of games to choose from which mainly consists of first person/third person shooter games and racing games. Some games require you to sit down and some can be played while standing up. In the end, it was a fun experience which lasted for around an hour and a half since there was a time slot allocated for us between 3 and 4pm.

Adobe Aero

I also began experimenting in Adobe Aero on mobile, testing different behaviours like animation, scale, spin, and bounce. There are some behaviours I have yet to understand how it works as I only have just begun using Adobe Aero recently (as of November 2023). As my starting point in learning about Adobe Aero, I have discovered that I can insert images that can be interacted with. Using the behaviours, I can create a sequence of interactions with an object which I can either start automatically or start when tapping the object on my phone screen.

Here is an example of what I can do with objects at the moment using Adobe Aero’s augmented reality:
